Dr. Nick Watts

Chief Medical Officer, England, UK

Nick works as the Chief Sustainability Officer of the NHS, where he is responsible for leveraging the capacity of its 1.3 million staff and £110 billion annual budget to deliver the world’s first net zero emission health service. Having completed his medical degree at UWA, Nick is licensed in Australia and the UK. He is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Notre Dame, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians’ Faculty of Public Health.

Prior to the NHS, Nick worked internationally with a range of health organisations including the WHO, and as the Executive Director of the Lancet Countdown.
