Faraz Mahmood Ayyaz

National Clinical Fellow

Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust

Mr. Faraz Mahmood Ayyaz is currently working as the National Clinical Fellow with GIRFT (Getting It Right First Time) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. With a background in General Surgery, he is working to optimize day-case procedure pathways at the newly established Trafford Elective Hub in Manchester. Working on day-case surgery pathways has also allowed for opportunities to improve sustainable practice and reduce carbon emissions which aligns with the NHS’s Net Zero agenda to aim for carbon neutrality. Faraz’s study on the variance in practice of day-case and inpatient Laparoscopic Cholecystectomies aims to provide a background on the carbon saving elements of increasing our day-case rates across the United Kingdom.
